Cosmic wonders light the path, where I'm bound.
No terrestrial plain has equaled
the splendor of the star fields in the vastness.
No being, no planet, no place
could turn my mind from this chase.
Though the long forgotten eyes
were all that could stifle my cries,
they are gone.
My soul has been empty of care
for so long.
I don't want to lose all I've gained,
the quarry, my salience or victory
over the scourge of the megacosm.
Broken, unable to move,
sounds and light invade my head,
tended by eyes I thought were long dead.
Impossible scenes of bliss
all thoughts of my commission dismissed.
Only thoughts, only dreams, only wanderings of my mind.
I'd do anything to make it real,
far away, very far away.
